LD when swapping between accounts

Anyone able to shed any light on this please?

It started today for the 1st time. Ican load both accounts in to the game however, when i swap (alt/tab) to the 1st account that was logged in I go Linkdead almost straight away.

Does anyone know why or how to correct this?

I am using Norton Firewall and Anti Virus, however today id the 1st day it has happened.

I also seem to experience lag between my two chars when having the 'inactive' one on auto follow.

Maybe its my pc (AMD XP2100/512mb/GF4 Ti 4200 128mb) or maybe my bandwidth? FYI I am on NTL 600k Cable Broadband.

no it's jsut the way it is, 2 accounts same pc you will be cursed. get another pc and share net connection!

I've noticed much better results dual logging on a machine with 1gb of RAM as opposed to 512mb ram. To the extent that the machine with 512mb ram LD'd when alt tabbing even though it has a better processor (XP2500+ opposed to XP1800+).

Right now I've got DAOC running, a few instances of IE, some av software, msn messenger. Not that much really and I've only got 142mb/512mb available. DAOC is taking 226mb. Stands to reason that when I load up another DAOC, I'm gonna start paging to disk. What's your hard disk setup, if you're hitting virtual memory it makes a fair difference. If you have room try another 256mb ram, should allow for two instances of DAOC, your operating system and whatever small pieces of software load on startup.
