1.29f BUT it's still in beta, and only EU servers use it

1.29h is the latest patch but you won't be able to use BW servers if you install it. You need 1.27g or 1.27h if you want to use BW.

First patch your quake3.exe with the 1.27g pointrelease...
Before patching your quake3.exe to 1.29 copy it to another map and rename it (quake3_127.exe) then you can patch your original quake3.exe to 1.29...then you put back the quake3_127.exe in the same map like the patched quake3.exe...so you have 2 .exe files now!
In that way you can play on both servers that use 1.27 or 1.29 without installing Q3 2 times...just pick the wright .exe before you connect to a server...
