This is just a suggestion but could we have "LAN Parties" forum?
Not sure whether it is the case with this plug but in the past the same advert has appeared in many different forums. Surely it would be better to have just one for this kind of thing?
that way anyone after a party could go and hunt one out that suited them. Maybe a small message in a siggy would then be ok but the main information could be in the "LAN Parties" forum and not clog up other stuff and not effect those either not intrested or who have a PC too shit to take to a LAN?

Hmm it depends what you use your PC for. If its good enough for the game u play it will work better at a LAN than online. It's true some games work at the speed of the slowest but the people who attend just make jokes, there's no aggro.
Several guys come along from some distance and either borrow a PC from me or arrange to borrow one from one of the others on the message board. I happen to know DocFear has a spare that was earmarked for Scack who can't make anymore
Best bet is just to turn up for a looksee, there's no spectator fee and if you like what you see you can come to another one later.
TBH we usually have a big chat in the bar for most of Friday so there's plenty of 'fluid' comments on the joys of Lan Parties lol
