Hmm... how about setting nukenabber to ban any computer that makes lotsandlots of connections to port 139...? Would that work? It's been ages since I've used it...

Not really a problem for me though, as most of the lans I'm ever on are one-room jobs... If someone's stealing your filez, just hit them

ahh as I get it the best defence is to disable file and print sharing and have no shares. Alternately only have a single shared directory (read only) for other people to access.

If the lan crowd are pranksters I use the first option and copy a cd with all my stuff on it and share the spare cd drive

Nah, the best defense is to use linux...

You can get samba to block by IP number, which should happily ban anyone you don't want accessing your machine...
