Lame buff bots in BG'S

That little guy outside frontier keeps that give you runs buffs ! They should place 1 out side HPK, MPK, APK that gives baseline buffs to everyone who clicks on them, maybe then we will get some real healers in BG instead of crap ammount healers. What you think without flaming and been rude n stupid

In order to attract "Real healers" you need to provide them with a good support structure.. ie, tanks that will work together and follow a single persons instruction within a group.

From my experience in BGs, it generally just seems to be a bunch of casters running into range, firing off a few nukes, and either returning with 5% health or just dead, requiring the healer (aka rezzbot) to perform his/her most regular and loathsome duty - because the power requirements of rezzing generally take you out of action for a few minutes.

On the rare occasion that tanks engage in combat the numbers are usually so one-sided that the healer is standing around looking like an ornament or looking at all the red names flying into his/her mini and knowing theres no way in hell you can heal 5+ people who are running around madly hitting anything without reason. Throw in the 2394872938487 infiltrators/shadowblades who just love to team-backstab anything with bright white lights on its hands (especially when the tank support has run off to get its own DMs and glory), and a healers plight is very poor indeed.

So casters get to have their fun. Tanks have their fun. For healers, BGs are really just a frustrating struggle to get in and get out with their RPs, and a lot of the time they give up at 1L3 anyway (I have with both my healer and shammy).

"Lame buffbots" are not healers who would be if they could be - theyre just buffbots. Healers are not forced away because their buffs are of no use when compared with a buffbot, but because they can't see a reason to waste that time playing Thid when they could be powering on towards 50.

Buffbots are the main reason why im leaving, The BG's just make this worse with a L50 on your 2nd account you can instantly create a L20 buffbot full enhance which is why I guess you see them in Thid so much.

Theres plenty of talks, moans, whines about buffbots and ive stated my opinion there - not going to repeat myself again except to say I'd wish Mythic would think of the game play and not their pocket.

Aveh is right, if you got rid of buffbots, it wouldn't increase the number of healers in the BGs in the slightest.

Maybe your right, after all why bother leveling a cleric if there are no BB's apart from to play the class as it was intended - would be nice to see a server where BB's were impossible.

People don't level clerics, that's the whole point. The class isn't just there to buff people, they heal and such too. People who want to do that already have a cleric in general. I doubt any of the people with a buffbot would suddenly level a cleric if buffbots were removed, or start playing their bot as a real cleric.

This sort of logic is like the smite nerf thinking - "hey if we nerf smite, clerics will heal more, right?" Wrong, all that happened was all the clerics quit. Do you really want to do that AGAIN?

I'd happily level a healer to and take him to Thidraki but I see the amount of hassle the healers there get constantly. Even shaman being shouted at because they cant heal and are out of power..

One of the most enjoyable classes I've taken through Thidranki was my mend healer. I have a real thing for support classes, though Didn't find it frustrating at all.

TBH, the main reason I don't roll lots of healers for Thidranki isn't because people don't work well together (although the current batch of Thid alts; Jesus....) it's because they're so damn hard to get from 20 to 24 I like support classes, yes, but the 20-24 stint goes MUCH faster if you don't have to join groups full of /level's in free gear down in Vendo Hell. :\

On the subject of bots, I don't have a problem with them. That's not to say I wouldn't prefer them to go away, but as long as they're here I don't mind - hell, I like them a lot when I'm playing a class the benefits heavily from buffs.

BUT I think everybody agrees that the whole concept of 'buffs' is a worthless idea - would any real player ever spec full aug? Is playing a full aug character fun? Rewarding? Challenging?

They should pull the whole 'buff' system from the game, and give buff classes the ability to somehow actively bolster their group in a way that's actually entertaining. My main is a shaman, and spending 5 minutes after port casting buffs on people is a pointless excercise that adds nothing to my class. There is NO reason for buffs to exist at all in my opinion, and buffbots are an unfortunate result of poor class design.

May aswell cus they do nothing accept walk into apk walls and ask for a rez is like asking for 3 plat in BG's they are of no use only friars able to sve your arse now clerics solely BB's

I know the solution...

The solution to BB's is to have a range on their buffs so if you go all the way to ck when your BB is at MPK/APK/HPK your buffs automatically fade. But as someone mentioned mythic only see us as their income and not their game players and so they wouldnt accept this idea of putting ranges on buffs incase ppl stopped paying for their BB account. If they dont actually think about us as something else apart from income soon they will soon be seeing alot of ppl leaving the game soon when the next game comes out with a feature similar to RvR.

also i think aveh is right about the whole role of a BG role of a healer is just to rezz. ppl are too confident with a BB and think they can solo anything, as a result they go off solo cos there isnt much need for speed either. If ppl stayed together and worked as a group instead of running and hitting any random thing they choose the quality of playing a healer would be much better and i might consider taking my lvl 24 healer back to BG
