I tried a simple trick last night that performed the miraculous!

If you are running windows XP try this-Set your ToA to run in windows NT compatibility mode. You do this by right-clicking on the ToA icon, selecting properties, clicking on the compatibility tab, selecting NT from the drop-down menu, and hitting ok. So far, lag has TOTALLY vanished in housing for me, not even a single yellow light, not even when running up to a marketplace. Next test, aegirhamn- Aegir now has just an occasional yellow framerate light, was solid red framerate light before.

The results for me were the same. Silky smooth in areas that used to be a dog. There's links in that thread to related threads discussing the same thing, so feel free to dig. It doesn't work for everyone apparently, but some peeps should benefit. There was some stuff about tweaking virtual memory settings that I didn't bother with, 'cos my framerate was already silky - so why bother?

If you have trouble running it in NT mode you should try Win2k mode.
Some machines just have problems with the NT mode and Win2k mode seems to help as well....
