Lagg problem, new harddrive

Ello, i recently changed harddrive, from a slow 20gb to a Maxtor 160gb 7200rpm 8mb cache, and daoc laggs more, like in capital cities, border keeps, df and such, i can barely move.. also when i port it takes ages, and when im closing the game

if anyone knows what i can do about this please help

Hmm im curious, did it work?

Enable DMA mode on the HDD. Right click on my computer and go to properties then go to device manager (if you're running XP it's on the HArdware tab of the System properties window).
Look down the list for Disk drives and click on the + next to it. Right click on your HDD and go to properties then under the settings tab enable DMA mode.
Makes a lot of difference.

Im guessing when you changed hard drives you had to reformat and reinstall all your files right? Well to me it looks like you installed and missed something. Check the following...

> Motherboard drivers. Most probably the problem.
> Graphic drivers might be problematic.
> Check your hard drive is set at ATA 133 in BIOS. I noticed my other machine was running at IDE33 when it should have been ATA133
