Lag or server

Lag or me?

I started playing CS on a T3 uni LAN getting pings form around 30 to as low as 8! Now i am home on a 56k modem getting ping of 180-220. There are some obvious differences i have seen longer sniper gun 'black outs', annoying ping kills, lag now and then etc etc.... one thing i was wondering about is recoil... more accurately, it seems to be taking more time for the cross hair to return back to normal after firing off a few shots.... especailly with the ak!! It's as if it is lagging

Is that because of the ping or the server? Or just me?

Austin_Powers now with new high score 18-5

You will notice huge difference moving from 8ms to 200+ms.

Its one of these things you will have to get used to

You know that - I know that....

Try telling those lpb's that have never experienced high pings

Hehe - I can feel a flaming coming on

Numpty, virtually every slpb/lpb has played on a high ping connection. I started out on a 14k pile waaaay back, since then iv'e gone through the isdn phase, and now am at cable end.
It's the HL netcode that leaves something to be desired though:p

yup i had no modem for a while so i played bots on TFC, then going online about 2 months later you notice that everything u just learnt has been a waste of time.

although modems good when sniping cause u can shoot where someone stood like 2 minutes ago and u seem to hit them ;-)

Quit bitching. HPBs get bendy bullets. You can shoot round corners

I tried sniping on a 56k modem once, omg it was so easy.

Im used to Cable sniping, where you actually have to aim where the person is....

With a ping of ~300 (poorly configured 56k) you can basically shoot anywhere near the enemy, and you get a headshot!

(TFC)
