Well so far it is the best thing that a household gamer can come close to a flawless game, or as far as lag free goes.
Well folks, we have all seen that the best servers held by certain clans or people who are say for example- WON, wire play etc, are on a T1 lines.
So in our quest to provide HEL members, hosted games where it was not the hoster with cable connection rather a dedicated hoster with a powerful connection, we found www.artofwarcentral.com.
What they have is simple so far... UK had Barry’s world etc where you could book high-speed servers for matches or just to simply host ya clan's games 24/7.
Well art of war central leases and setups/runs games on 0C3 lines to clans and gamers in quite a few games. Oc3 lines are about 100 times faster than T1. For example HEL runs 4 servers in 4 different games on an Oc3 line i.e. SOF, Serious Sam, TFC, Tribes2. We host 40-50 player games where the game is steady and lag is hardly visible. This does not guarantee that your ping will always be low. Its just makes sure the game can handle large number of players and a steady ping without crashing. Players from UK and US can play on the same server without them pinging off the roof.
You have to keep in mind that if the game code is screwed and it screws with the ability to host 32 player games, it’s not the connection. It’s the code.
Anyways, this is great news for gamers in the US cause the only other company I found was charging 150 bucks per month to host game servers. Art of war central hosts it at 60 dollars per month. They have about 50 clans signed up and have currently booked servers for a year. Their customer service is so good, that every client has complimented them.
These are good gamers who started a business for gamers.
Next time if anyone says... Man I wish we could host games on a connection better than Cable/Dsl; remember to direct them to www.artofwarcentral.com . Or simply pop a question to us on our board...
Would it not be great if guys who can afford it or clans that can afford it to host games on such a high connection and have more people enjoy it? You can only have so many - WON east server and west server. We run a 24 player open server on SOF and have people thanking us everyday.
BTW, OUR Soldier of Fortune players (HEL) who host games on this line are first on the list of servers even above WON Wireplay servers. (Ping
