Right, I often find myself doing useless things like surfing forums and would like to start do something constructive. Like learning to play some music instrument.

I've had piano in mind so far, got access to one here at my home so no need to buy stuff. Anyone got any experience playing the piano and could give me some feedback/advice/ideas on where to start? Some website maybe?

Just thought I'd try asking here for starters...

get a few lessons so they can teach you warm-up exercises and good practices first

Piano is easy to learn the basics, and difficult to play well... and it's the same with most instruments.

I'd suggest leesons for a piano, but if you wanted to learn yourself get a guitar.

Givf PL in return! :D

Hmm, aye guitar was another option. But my bro is the pro at that already, and like everyone plays guitar so would be fun doing something else.

Lessons it is.

Get piano lessons, learn theory and the technical stuff then self teach guitar. They are both great instruments, i personally couldn't chose between them. :)

its more that you dont cause long term injury rather than learning the instrament itself,
i would just do lessons until you can read the music/tabs, do the basics and the warmups
Then its just practice so no need to waste your money

The good thing about lessons is, that you have a pro teaching you the basics.

I wouldn't say that they're a waste of money when you become better. I played the Cello for 10 years and I had lessons all the time. Gotta admit that my teacher also gave concerts and recorded CD's - all in all a really good player with an awesome Cello aswell.
