I am almost scared to group with anyone cause I am delicate and if I died they would probably loot me

It was fun to play even if I did only get 5-6hrs in during the beta period, but its not somthing i'd pay for. It was a pain in the ass to signup for, took me around and hour to get my Beta account setup so I could login

and i know what you mean about the kain crowd.. really frustrating bunch, but there are a few nice ones in there ;D

exactly. the grind is awful but i think clan wars and sieges and such can be alot of fun =)

and it is more rpg in it than daoc has imo and most likely more than most aswell.

But I do agree that if the exping sucks so much than it isnt going to be good mmorpg, the first character you level up in daoc was fun after that it might get repetative. However if the first time already sucks AND from what I have heard the grind is longer than getting to the fun part isn't something alot of people will do. Alot of mmorpg have something that isnt fun, but sometimes necessary, however you can do something that is fun before and after it. Not like you have to get to lvl x (which takes a few months) and than can enjoy the good days, it must be fun either from the start or atleast 10 hours of playing.

Daoc made me come back time and time again, think when i first installed it i started playing 5 + hours a day exping to 50, making new friends etc, most i still play with and are guildies.

exactely the same here, i wonder if it's because other mmorpgs are really just crap or i'm too used to daoc

"sadly" thats the basic of most mmorpgs though. Even with daoc a skilled player in epic vs a unskilled one with SC and toa artifacts is something that will most likely be in favour of the unskilled. Skill does matter and most likely also in L2, but as in most mmorpgs, unless the matter of skill is really great, the equipment will most likely be the deciding factor(or RR/ML aswell for daoc). Its not something that is bad, its inherent to mmorpg that equipment plays an important role, but skill is still a factor in it. Which of the adds to taunt/CC, knowing how to kite an opponent or know how to prevent that from happening.
I dont know wether these things are in L2, but I doubt there isnt any skill involved in it. However if you want a game thats pure test of skill than games like fps or ps if you still want a MMOG is something you should probably be looking for. mmorpg's are not made to be pure skillbased spending more time to get equipment and money is also an important factor.
