someone bring that big boat please like they did last time aswell
I was about to post an 18 man opted group raid for Kraken again however I decided not to for several reasons.
1)Kraken has been killed on a few occasions now there is no big secret as to how to kill him so the groups don't need to be quite so fixed.
2)Even with 18 players with only 3 drops you still don't have much chance of winning things so adding a mod would be nescessary and this would create problem of its own.
3)Both casters and tanks seem to damage Kraken. Everybody would be useful in this raid so there is less need to actually make opted groups.
Leviathan is also a target. He will probably require at least 4fg until we figure out a good way of killing him and I am not organising a 4fg opted group setup!
The plan for tomorrow:
After Jacina's sash raid, I will either start a BG on me or take over Bluesky's BG. This should be slightly before 21:00 CET, which is when I hpe to move out. We will meet in Oceanus Haven. Hopefully we will get close to 40 people and hopefully there will be enough people with skiffs/long boats so that we can all sail down to Kraken. We will kill Kraken quickly, get 3 uber drops and get back into boats where we will sail off to find Leviathan. Leviathan may prove a bit trickier but with a reasonable zerg and if you follow the guidlines I set out he should be killable. Hopefully he will also drop at least 3 uber drops. We will then meet on the surface for a name call for a modifier and then lotto all the drops.
Things that might go wrong:
1)Somebody else has been planning to try a raid with their guild etc. If this happens we will have to cancel. This hasn't been organised way in advance so we have no divine right to the mobs. If your guild is planning on trying to kill either mob tomorrow please say!
2)We don't get enough people. Hopefully this won't happen especially as I will be taking a modifier so nobodies effort should be wasted. Also if you consider the number of drops to the number of people required it should mean you need to come to alot less raids compared to Jacina's/Erinys in order to get the loot you want. If you don't yet know what they drop you can look here for Kraken and here for Leviathan .
3) Despite having a small zerg Kraken/Leviathan wipe us. Lets hope this doesn't happen however if it does we may need to rethink our strategy.
Lotto + Modifier Rules:
These are effectively the same as the ones Bluesky uses but lets go through them again
The lotto will be a standard /random 100 highest wins for each piece of loot.
In order to roll for loot you must be lvl 50.
You may win a max of 1 item per raid.
If you do not win anything you will recieve a +3 modifier to your roll on the next raid.
If you win anything your modifier is reset to 0.
*DISCLAIMER* It may be nescessary to change the raid setup in which case the modifier rules may have to been changed. If this is the case, I may have to clear/change the modifier on this first raid. Hopefully this won't be the case! One possible problem for example is if Leviathan proves very hard to kill and there is a large demand for his drops. In this case a second mod list may have to be made
Strategy for killing Kraken and Leviathan
Kraken should be fairly straightforward for a zerg. Firstly he lives in a lair so it is very easy to set up FoP etc before hand. Secondly he seems to only have 1 kind of attack that the zerg needs to worry about. The only thing we need to worry about is his aoe dot. It does indeed tick for 400! We will combat this by getting EVERYBODY TO SPREAD OUT! As he is under water you have plenty of room to spread out around him. I will try and form a fairly opted heavy tank + seer group and we should distract him long enough for the casters (who should be hopefully hitting for near 300 a nuke) to kill him. He can nearsight you and FZ you along way away. To combat this we need plenty of seers.
Leviathan is rather alot tougher for zergs. Firstly he roams which means we will have to drag the zerg around looking for him. Please try not to be afk! Secondly he can FZ everybody who is near him away! This means he is difficult to kill with melee chars however people with ranged attacks can still hit him and nukers can hit him for as much as 200 when he is debuffed! Who knows even hunters maybe useful for something . Secondly he produces loads of blue con adds. This wouldn't be so much of a problem if we could easily form a pbaoe box but he does like to use the mass FZ alot. What we will do is set up a load of FoP/HF/det wards etc near the surface/bottom where we will try and form a pbaoe box. Swim to that if you have loads of adds on you. Once again as long as we are heavy on seers we should be ok.
If we have 5fg both mobs should be easily doable as long as we have enough seers. These are "epic" mobs and drop some of the best items currently around. If you don't know what to bring a seer is always useful! Hint: I would like plenty of seers to turn up!
And Finally
You will hopefully notice I haven't set a regular time yet. This is because I am not sure about how much interest there will be. Do we want 1 raid a week or 2, or possibly less frequent than that? Also I do not know when a good time is. Is Tuesdays good because we get all the PvE done on one day? Is tuesdays bad because there is too much PvE already? Is it too late and maybe Monday would be better or another day completely? Please give your suggestions.
