hi its me tr_slayer i am trying to get kots hosted on barrysworld for the kots uk community and need some help i need peeps to fill in the q2 barrysworld forum in.. and all so i have made i poll to see what kots version. peeps want to play..so can all you peeps out there vote for the kots
mod you wonna play ie, the standed 5.25 kots or the quads kots its up to you lot! ..

Come on barry's world peeps let's host this mode. It is currently hosted by wireplay and is 1 of the most populated q2 servers that they have. l8r peeps buzz

I'll most CERTAINLY agree
Personally, I think King of the Server would be an EXCELLENT addition to Barry's world. When KOTS was at it's most popular, we had a few HUNDRED users easily. The only reason we don't now is because we lost server admins for a bit and now we have no way of spreading the word about our mod. At one point I went out and did a search for King of the Server and KOTS around the web and had never realized how much of an impact we had on the Quake2 community. Websites all over the place were posting news about our mod, about new releases coming out, etc, etc... Am I bragging? Perhaps so! I think that you should seriously consider adding King of the Server to one of your servers. Oh, and slayer, first off... Long time no see. And second off... I'd like to see a KOTS2000 server instead. They now have a GDS and Barry's World gives most people a most EXCELLENT ping. Even from here in Japan.

is version 5.25 the one with the Orbit GDS?
i would really like to see the return of orbit, i prefer it much to whatever wireplay are running at the moment.

Well, the last version of Orbit was 5.xx, 5.0 was where the upgrades and everything were automatic and it was stand alone. If this version is the Orbit version I'm all for it, but if its simply the modified version of 5.0, then I don't really care. If we can get orbit going again, I'll play alot more.

Kots is great.
A few problems like lack of admins, server crashes, cheaters & the complete(almost,lol)domination by lpbs.
QuadKots was a refreshing change. Kots2k was jiddery.
a main problem is perhaps that alot of Quake2 mods are being left for more popular games like CS, RA, RA3(q3), this is a major drag, but QW went the same way eh?
A good host(game server) would be a start, but until the fast servers are up it's a waste of time 'cos peeps don't wanna risk their levs,
in the mean time i play kots with no lag

yeah me too Phate. The kots running at the moment is not bad, but I so much prefer Orbit...my BFG feckin rocks
anyone remember that big green beam being swung about?
Someone stood on my head at the bottom of the big lift on DM2 and I fired, the beam propelled him all the way to the top

This is a really good mod, but it needs a new home otherwise its useless. Need a server setting up with the character files being saved properly.

It's Me!!!! (for the first time on barrysworld)
as a fellow kots player i feel obliged to pursuade other q2 players to get barrysworld to host kots.
I've played kots for ages now and i feel its a great mod, you can progress with your character and you feel like you're getting somewhere unlike dm and ctf
the others will say more stuff im sure
i prefer Orbit
