Played it, completed it. It's a pretty good story, but has a very odd ending! Lots of bugs in the game (most annoying being the pathing one where the other party members don't always follow you, which is most annoying in fights!), the release should have been delayed to iron them out. According to the review on gamespy, they are still in the PC verrsion! Sounds like shody programming to me!
I finished KOTOR 1 on PC the 2nd time t'other week. I was Dark Side this time and with the uber items I found 2nd time round I managed to kill Malak without any healing or stims. I got the first kill of him in one hit
ph34r teh or4nge litesab0r !!!!1
(although Zalbaar with Baragwin Assault Blade and Bacca's Blade ruled even more.)
Can't wait for 2. Gonna check for the patch asap though. Patch for 1 helped so much with resolution increase and making force regen work
I'm getting the PC one and my bro will get it for Xbox. I prefer mouse/kb over the Xbox controller tbh. And fiddling with the graphics is good. The loading times on KOTOR were so much faster on PC than Xbox I found, also they got slower after I had to use some old drivers for my Radeon 9700pro due to being thrown to the desktop frequently whilst playing...even the latest KotOR patch couldn't fix it. I hope KotOR 2 doesn't feature a similar bug, I have to get the latest drivers on friday, until then I'm just playing some more KotOR.
Playing as Dark is so fucking kewl, In Tatooine you can force choke people in conversation and stuff, but you really do feel bloody evil irl.
Wij how'd you get an orange lightsaber? Too bad they fixed it in the PC version so you couldn't keep the Sith uniform like on Xbox, and also my brother said that Darth Bandon drops a special double bladed lightsaber, but I didn't find it. That new Yavin station which they released as an expansion is pretty useless, but if you help the guy from the Trandoshans you can get some good lightsaber gems.
The new lightsaber gems on Yavin station. Use Heart of the Guardian as your colour gem and woohoo, Orange Lightsabre.
There's a FAQ somewhere which explains which gems to use it with to make it supa-dupa. Mine had +7 attack. Also because my char was a duel-specced instead of a duel-wielder it meant each hit only had about a one in a million chance of missing.
1 lightsabre > 2 if specced properly.
/edit: argh I'm so DAoC about it
/edit2: ooh - u wanted some DAoC cash off me didn't you ? I totally forgot
Oh, I actually bought that gem towards the end of the game but didn't bother using it. Too bad I can't play Kotor 1 anymore, upgraded my Radeon drivers for KotOR 2 and they have problems with number 1.
I can't decide whether to play thru Kotor 2 as light or dark first time round...oh the choices! I hope its good, been looking forward to this for ages. I wonder why you could only play as human on Kotor 1, when there are other races in the game that are also Jedi/Sith.
1 week off college, lots of Kotor time...may the force be with me! (Christ, I'm such a dork. )
I bought it and its really fun but I have a bit of a problem, occasionally the text will suddenly move at a super fast speed, and keep skipping it instantly until I am allowed to reply, then as soon as I've replied it will speed up again until my next oppurtunity to interact, so I have no idea whats been said. Anyone know why that is?
Playing kotor2 on xbox, No sleep this weekend means i'm shite at work but who cares!
A few bugs in the game is annoying but not as buggy as your average pc game. (Why the fuck are there ANY bugs on a console game, especially one thats been out awhile in the States?!)
Still, I'm utterly engrossed...
... If only I can get "handjob" to love me again! <sigh> She's probably my sister/daughter/alternate reality self any way but she's just so damn hot in the twilek dancing girl costume!
Erm, that was frustrating, -I did a lot 53 hours! (light side)
It starts off well and the storyline is good. But the cutscenes and story progression gets completly scrwed the further you get. The game sets up situations that are never realised.
On Malachor, the remote sets up the gravity mass thingy, and GO-TO stops him from ever activating it. Yet when you defeat Kreia the thing is actuvated anyway -the ebon hawk re-appears after it was apprently destroyed -and what about myra, she was on the planet, kills hanharr and gets to do nothing else? There are other things as well, the fuel line quest for instance, I destroy goto's yacth, but the Hutt doesnt seem to realise. It's really fucking annoying, because it seems like they needed to spend more time creating scenarios for your actions. What I did in the game didnt relfect where it took me.
cant edit the initial post now, but i tired three preview posts, I even quoted someone else's spoiler from the movies forum and it wouldn't work. If a mod would edit the last tag in my first post it would be nice.
The charachter interactions on board the Ebon Hawk are what really annoy me, they take the storyline in a different direction -or seemingly so. They never have any affect. NPC's attack each other onbaord ffs, yet nothing comes of it.
Still, it wasn't enough to stop me completing it, the story line is good if flawed by the amount of time they didnt spend on it.
