No, I won't be presenting a super duper extra brand new MMOrpg. I'm gonna fcking criticize it.
Graphics: Hellloooo, we're in 2004 !!! That gfx would have looked good back in 1999. Wtf. Even DAoC beta looked better than this. I don't want another Asheron's Call, kthx.
Sound: Well this gets an 7. It's reasonably good for a beta.
Control: A pain. Camera is bad, you can't go 360' around your char, and the zooming option doesn't let you move the camera whilst zooming in/out. That, combined with the fact that selecting/attacking monsters is way buggy and difficult, defeats the purpose.
UI: Suprisingly nice, but due to the fact that they either have p2 @ 266 for a server, or the game's network code is badly written, it has delays and such.
When looting, the window with the loot runs away from your pointer, just like those bad Java jokes.
Gameplay: Nothing extraordinary, pretty much basic stuff. Kill mob, get xp, badly done quests, the size of the world is SHOCKINGLY SMALL, only 2 races, the game is meant to have classes but mixes their abilities in a confusing manner. For example, you choose to go rogue, and you can select your class/specialty at lvl 10. BUT... beyond that point, you can invest in archery skills, assasin skills, explorer skills and basic skills. Very fuzzy.
PVP: Erm, what pvp ? I even looked in the game faqs, seems like they either forgot to mention where/how you can go pvp, or the feature just isnt there. Very likely to be the later.
Another thing. I played an alpha version of a game which looked very much like this one, one year ago. It wasn't named Knight Online though... and my bloody memory decided to take a vacation. Don't know if this is the very same project, but the coincidences are there.
Bottom Line, stay away from it.
