1 gripe: Dual-shocks have a huuuge dead-zone on the analogue sticks which makes aiming in FPSs a real pain

Much more fun than the RE5 demo though.

it ranks up there with Gears 1 and 2 and Call of Duty 4 as the best of the best console fps games. I find it similar to Gears, seems like set piece battles, which I enjoy. I really do not like dualshock for fps games though.

Right, so I'm not allowed to compare a game to any other game on any other format? Really? Cos I sorta think that's bollocks. Mainly as it would appear you've just done exactly the same thing.

No you just use the same line every time, if you want to bait a bad fps, then pick a bad fps. You have Halo 1 2 and 3 free to choose from

Anyone know if there is a 360 style controller for the ps3? I would be much happier playing this with that. Fine aiming is a problem for me with dualshock.

Dual shocks do not have any innate dead zone. Plug it into a PC and you'll see. Developer's either use one or don't.

Anyway, my impression: the first play through was a bit odd. Aiming is quite slow on default, even putting it up a few didn't help me much. Plus, the graphics were quite distracting. In a good way.

BUT

I played it a 2nd time and wow... I got used to it and think it's really good. I love the way the enemy AI switches cover points when you shoot near 'em or completely move to a different spot if you lob a grenade. Not like the dumbfucks in R2.

Also, it's worth noting that aiming without the zoom/iron sights is not completely worthless (again, unlike R2 where normal accuracy is fucked). Cover system is kinda useful and kinda not.

Clearly incorrect, as I said I've no problem playing them well, but you simply don't get the same accuracy on a pad as you do with a mouse. Anyone who's played a reasonable amount of shooters on the PC will feel the difference and it just feels like playing a dumbed down game.

its a dead duck argument . dunnu if it has usb kb and mouse support. some fps on ps2/3 have it some dont.

I think it's more an issue of someone who had real fps skills on computer. People who thinks Golden Eye and Halo are the peak of fps gaming are totally skill less in comparison. Altho they are used to a totally inferior setup.

I've played most shooters on the PC and yes accuracy on mouse/KB is obviously going to be better but there is no way in hell that a control pad forces the game to be dumbed down.

Get over the m/kb issue it isn't going to change anytime soon.

Lethul do not be a tit. I was awesome at goldeneye and thought it was the best multiplayer fps experience. I also spent years and years playing CS, and thought it was the best online fps. You cannot compare them really, it took a lot of skill to do goldeneye with the control sticks, console fps have auto aim to help with the lack of finese from a mouse but it does not make it worse or less fun.
