Keyboard Problems

Hi,

I'm having bad problems and just hope someone has an answer.

everytime I press certain keys things open, I am unable to type with these keys, I have tried logging in as the administrator under safe mode yet get the same problem....

a key opens favourites
Q opens favourites
z takes me to the defult home page
left ctrl opens favourites
alt opens favourites
right ctrl opens homepge
alt gr opens calculator

its taken ages to type this as i have to cut and paste the letters that dont work .

Lol, this happens to me often when I dont quit from games properly, letters open run box etc...really annoying, I reboot and it works, though.

Oh by the way try bashing the shit out of your ctrl/alt etc keys, sometimes works for me.

i rebooted 5 times, uninstalled the keyboard and it still happens

Get a new keyboard?

Is it a PS/2 plug you are using? If it is, you might wanna check whether one of the pins are bent. If some pin is bent, you can try to align it back with a pencil or something. Just a suggestion though, probably not the problem. Worth the shot though

Is it a flashy multi-function-buttons-on-top keyboard, and is it cordless?

Cordless, check your batteries, otherwise reinstall the software.

It's a MS internet Keyboard, I gave it a good bashing and most keys seems to be doing what they should now, but I have ordered a new one anyway.

Dunno why it went like it as it was fine the night before.

Is one of the buttons stuck in? Say CTRL? So when you press A its atually CTRL + A because of the stuck CTRL?

nah, checked for that, now found another key that does things it shouldnt... whenever I press Num Lock it not only turns on and off it also opens Media Player.

Had any virii recently? When was last system scan?

scanned yesterday, usually scan every friday.

Sounds like a crossed wire somewhere if you've tried reinstalling the Intellitype (or whatever they call it now) software.
