Is there anyway to Turn this off? I am always fearing when my Cat jumps on my Desk, he ALWAYS presses the Power Button on my Keyboard, thus turning off my computer.

Did you have to install drivers for the buttons to work?

Actually saying that my keyboard has a power button and i didnt need anything for it to work.

maybe in the bios?

If you're running XP, there's a setting in Control Panel -> Power Options -> Advanced.

Don't know about the other OS's, but I'd imagine there's some way to change what it does.

There should be a "power up by keyboard" option in the BIOS.

Right, OK Camazotz i went into my BIOS to have a look-see and this is all i found..

Power Management

Power Management - User Define
Standby Mode - Disabled
HDD Powerdown - Disabled
Softoff by Method - Instant Off (Wtf is this?)
Wakeup by PCI Card - Disabled
PowerOn Ring/LAN - Disabled

Intergrated Periphals

Onboard USB Controller - Enabled
USB Keyboard Support via - OS
PWRON after PWFail - Off

My motherboard is a Abit KG7-RAID and the BIOS is Award v6.00PG (1984-2001)

In there i didnt find the Powerup Keyboard Option...

Place sellotape over the hole. Low-tech wins every time.

Not when the Tape is the same colour as the Keyboard ;)

Strange, I have a very old Award BIOS on my aged Abit BX6v2 mobo (i440BX) and that has a "Power on by Keyboard" option, yet my shiney newish Abit KR7A (KT266A) doesn't have it.

Also no indication its a jumper on the board.

And nothing in the O/S, but I am running Windows 98SE, maybe theres another specification of ACPI that means it can be controlled via software.
