Basically, i'm having a problem.

I want to get a lot of things done with my time, such as exercising, weights, spending more time taking care of myself, homework, revision, going to bed at an acceptable time etc. but the problem is, i can't.

I say to myself, i'll do it in 15 mins but I never do. MSN was part of this and recently i went on a mad blocking spree and only chat to roughly 9 people now (instead of 50+). The problem is, I am still wasting time on games etc. when I should be doing the things mentioned above.

Thus, i'm asking you off-topic 'homies' how is the best way to go about making sure I do these things. Is a routine any gd or should I just go with the flow? Should I set myself targets etc?

Basically, just help me to keep control of my time and not let it get lost to the 'qualities' instead of the 'essentials.'

what i do is make a routine and stick to it, i do allow flexibility but not "slack time" (i.e oh sod it, ill do it twice tomorrow, big no no because you never will) the hard thing is being tough with your self and making and sticking with the rules but if you can do it it really is worth it, so basically write down everything you want to do in the day and what days your doing what and allocate time slots and stick to them, not ridgedly but just use it as guidelines, if your too much of a nazi with yourself youll get sick of it and rebel.

if your stuck ask your folks to help out or a friend or soemthing, anyhoo this is what i do and it really does help.

Tell yourself that you'll have more fun playing games knowing that you've done everything you planned to do that day. Be honest with yourself so that when the pang comes to play, just remind yourself about how all the things you should be doing will be on your mind as you play, and you'll end up having a crap time playing while getting nothing else done!

Here's a basic timetable - edit to suit yourself :)

1. Do everything I need to do today
2. Play games.

Stick to that, and you'll be good to go :)

Get up early at the weekends :) I know a lot of people hate doing this, but if you get into the routine of not staying in bed past about 9am, you'll find you get a lot more done.

I had the same problems months ago, I just 1 day change my will and forced me to do other things before playing a game...

Once you start it's easy to stick to it and day by day it costs you less effort to do it.

I got a little help because I knew someone and she makes me change my lifestyle which was a bit sedentary (half way... more during week-days and less during weekends)

Good luck!

its just a decision.

Have a routine, but from what your saying, this is a life change, so its going to be hard.

Take it a step at a time, put 1-2hrs aside for homework - getting starteds the hard part.

couple of weeks later put something else in there, etc etc.
