Why take a tower if you still want to camp e.g Brynja castle bridge?
Recently albs took Bled tower 3 to block port to bled, i dont really mind, but whats the point with taking the tower if you want to rvr and find targets when you block the majority to come to that area?

Point is to farm the warlock zerg when they try to rush the tower. Easiest RP out there, especially when they are all level 45-49 in rog's - and when they are nearsighted.

you really think that you will earn the same amount of rps that would come from ppl porting to bled instead?

Whenever a tower in Midgard is taken, all SMs/BDs/WLs stop to play strip poker in the keeps and go out to be farmed at the taken tower for a few times. Then they build up a zerg and use the WL anytime bombing skills to retake the tower.

So yes, taking towers makes sense.

so why does kill messages decrease then? the amount of mid casters will just decrease anyhow and from what i see grps just gather at glen instead and move together so alb soloers will have less chance to kill anything so taking a tower is just a selfish action by a grps.

Ofc it's selfish, groups want either RPs or decenf fights and if you can't get decent fights cause no other groups are out you go and camp a bridge or take a tower and camp it.

Can't really blame anyone, it's the way DAoC and especially the sever (currently) is.

i mean theres a concept of queensbury rules in daoc, but asking not to take bleed towers because it fucks up the port for mids is like going a bit to far...

personally i fucking love it when enemies take crim or crauch towers, but its never fucking happens much tbh.

im not asking them not to do it, just wondering why they do it, and in my oppinion as you may have noticed, i dont really see why, thats why i want to hear what other people think.

Maybe they got a group mission to take it? Hell do I know. Sometimes you just wanna go and be an ass instead of doing something sensible.

Well, when enemies takes beno t3, and we're RvR'ing in agramon, i have 2 choices, retake it, or log. If retake doesn't succeed the first 2-3 times, i wont run a gg that day, simply because of the annoyance of having to boat up to beno, and because i cba spending my gg time on retaking a tower from fotm WL's or bainshee/animist zergs.

However, like today, mids could easy port to glenlock or somewhere else (and glenlock is btw much closer to blendrake which is where the action is), so i don't see the point, as there was nothing out in agramon today anyways (yes, i had a few empty runs there). I was camping bled t3 some at the end today (2am+ or so), and even without port mids managed to summon a big zerge. Just to bad they all insta turn and run every time they see a firewizard closing up :p
