Just started in Hibby

Well, I just deleted my lvl46 Healer in Middy and joined Hib in search of a new adventure and hopefully more fun. Rolled a magician, gonna be a mentalist at lvl5

One sour note though. I realise how hard it is now to start non-twinked chars (havn't actually done this since start of Beta). So I am in a strange land with 0 coin. My stick turned green at lvl4, I have no armour (damn skels on Connacht beach only dropped tattererd Brea) and now they are grey So it's all a bit tough atm as I really am poo in melee and get demolished by blues in most cases. I saw a bunch of guilded 30 somethings hanging at the bindstone, so I thought I would ask for a modest loan (26s) in order to buy a new stick. Sadly, they patronisingly told me to 'go kill stuff and save up', even after I had explained blues were a difficulty for me (to which the helpfullly replied 'you're a magician, not a tank').

Now, this isn't a whinge about not giving beggars money, it's a whinge about the mindset of players who will go out of their way to be un-helpful. On Midgard I would generally always give to cases who asked politely for a clearly modest amount ('can I have 15s for a new sword') and always reject instantly the 'can i have gold plz' trolls. Rembember the request was for 26 silver..

As yet, an unpleasant introduction to your realm, and I hope that others will be more generous and helpful (I'm NOT talking just about money here btw) but I will persevere and progress by killing green mobs until I can get enough money to face those blues.....

Hehe, I'm a midget. Could anyone really join Hibby and not go for a midget ! They rule. Always made me jump in emain when I targetted a midget 'omg, its either a badass nuker, an archer or an asassin..eek!'. Will try a midget shield champion when I get this char established

I hardly ever give gold away. What I do is mostly craft for "younger" players, thus actually giving them something that they can use.

If you see me around in TNN, give me a message, I'll surely craft something for you if I can.

Thankyou all those that have offered help here on the forums, and those that have helped me in the game.

I have settled on Chesnox my midget shield champion now, and he is kicking serious ass atm (lvl8 \o/) and I've joined a luri only guild The Bonsai Brigade

And Woody and Sheba, I hope one day to see you again in Emain.

As a mentalist, you *should* be able to solo blues really easy.

Not sure if you are still a magician tho /:

A tip is to chain pull greens instead of trying blues. Always helps me level faster to 5 when rolling magician type alts(which i have made a _few_ )

If someone is new to realm and is from another your best bet for getting a little help is to explain where you came from and what level you were.
You seem to get more repect that way and people know you have already gone through the threadmill of the early levels
(even if it was in that easy realmmid...)
Most people do look down on requests for money/items it seems..even when the request was polite and well wrote.
That group were just trying to make a point...however bad it was.
Anyway Give me a tell and ill help out anytime I can.

Hibby land has beenm really friendly to me since i deleted my 42 cleric and joined Hib.

I struggled till lvl 10 until a nice rl friend of an ex guildy gave me some cash to get me started and a lowbee i was grouped with had a main 40+ bard so told me where i was going wrong

only thing im struggling with atm, is finding my way around........
