I ordered the Special Edition (November) release on Amazon about three months ago :)

I'll rent LOTR when it comes out to watch it, then wait for the Special Edition to own.

hmm I may have to rethink my strategy.. Mrs wishbone might not be impressed when I buy them both :/ . Might have to follow mank!'s example. Or borrow it of my bruv until November, cos I simply have to have that one.

Is this for the full set or just FoTR ? Because it seems a bit stupid/geeky to go out and buy something that will be in a nice boxed set later.

Yes indeed, I am a bit geeky where LOTR is concerned. But I might hold back from buying both and wait till Nov. I'm not bothered in the slightest about the poxy bookends or whatever you get with it, I just wanna see the extra long film.

I like it, many people don't. I personally didn't like Crouching Tiger, but there we are!

hmmmz

slight problem with ur theory there tho cama:

the third film won't be out til xmas 2003.... which means autumn 2004 dvd release... bit long to wait isn't it?

atm i'm thinking 4 disk set, no bookends.

well. it depends what these bookends are like :>

but like a wazzock i pre-ordered it in whsmiths and had to put a quid down...
my theory at the time being jubbly 10% student discount, clubcard points, etc.. i'd prolly end up paying a fiver for it...

'cept then they got rid of the student discount didn't they :(

just the stuff that was cut to make the film shorter, I think they made more of a deal in Lothlorien than was originally shown. And more besides..

Why does the System Idle Process use 90-100% of my CPU?

I'm going to get this Five Disc Collector's Edition.

Out in December on Region 1.

Details Here.

This one seems more favourable. It's region 2, comes out a month earlier. Only thing it's missing is the National Geographic disc, which is available seperately.
