I used to be able to rattle off these things muy rapido back when I was still at skool. That was then, heh. Anyway here it comes:

Case:
A person is standing, holding a cup of coffee in one hand [hot] and a glass of OJ [cold] in the other. Will our test subject perceive the hot container to be hotter than it really is, the cold container to be colder than it really is, nothing like that...or both?

The above was inspired by me this morning, with a coffee and OJ in my hands while waiting for the train. J00r answers go below...

Depends on ambient temperature.

EG: If it's a hot day the cold OJ will be more noticeable and vice versa.

put one hand in hot water one in cold then put both into room temp water

the hand in the hot water felt the warm was colder and vica versa prolly u might think that the hot cold drinks are more extreme then they are?!!?!

The effect is more pronounced if you have a cup of coffee in one hand, and you other hand placed between Wazz's mum's legs.
