just bought a new pc and cant seem to install daoc

just bought a fairly serious pc,

3.2ghz, 256mb gfx card,160 gig harddrive,1gig of ram

its a dell xps, (designed for gaming)

however when i try install the daoc disks it just says they aint responding,

all of em aint,

seems to be a problem with installer.exe,

anyone have any ideas?

much appreciated :)

have you tried the CD's on another computer?

sounds like a CD drive problem to me. If you have a high bandwith connection you can download the client and not use the Cd's just use the keys

ah k thanks m8,

i installed the cds a few days ago on another computer and they were fine,

dunno whats up with it,

and its all 4 of em too :(

seems strange,

is that link up on the camelot-europe site to download the whole game?

it just kept puttin me through to nothing when i clicked on the download :(

just tried the cd on another computer and it worked fine,

the exact thing it said was in a box headed

installer.exe

Error Signature
szAppName : installer.exe szAppVer : 0.0.0.0 szModName : hungapp
szModVer : 0.0.0.0 offset : 00000000


(installer.exe was nonresponsive)

i'm hopin someone can shed some light on it for me,

any help would be much appreciated :)

Try copying the cd contents to the HD then try it.

Are other cd/dvds ok? could be a fault with the drive..

I have this problem too.
The only way i can get around it is to turn off my AV and Firewall. It just will not install with them on.
Another way around it is to network your pc to the pc that the cd's work on, and share the CD drive allowing you to install remotely.... but then, you may as well just copy across the entire folder from the harddrive if you are going to do it that way :x

make sure u have all antivirus software turned off before u try to install, this may or may not be the problem but i know antivirus software can stop alot of instalations

Its because the install file is just one big 600 odd meg file. My AV does a back flip trying to scan it before it runs it :x
