I was on beta, was a great laugh. Especially the killer tool shed (one of the constructions that your faction has to make is a tool shop and there was a bug where it chased peoples crafts and crashed into them - had some ace laughs when that was going on)
Some of the missions were fun and going out on Flux raids with a few mates when jump sectors had lots of them was fun. (flux are server controlled pirates that kill any faction)
However, i doubt i will be paying 10eu (?) a month because i couldnt help but think it was just an IRC server with graphics. Some of the jumpsectors have huge distances between different gates you end up just pointing in the right direction, keeping an eye on the radar so you dont get ambushed by flux, pulling the chat hud to big, then talking to all the other pilots either on sector chat or gobal chat.
Some of the missions are very boring and wont give you much cash at all, like the mineing missions. They are all you will be doing for your first hour or so and since the ship controll is very hard you are most likely to crash into the astros on many occasions. The faction missions are very good, they are the most rewarding because it is a team effort. Every faction has a core station. At this core station there will always be some sort of building in construction. The tool shed was meant to make components quicker afaik. You will be asked to deliver so many units of some component to the core station. They can be a bitch though, before you agree to do it ask on global chat which stations have some because the mission briefing will not tell you where to get it from. Also try to get used to what stations produce what components so you won't need to ask around.
I think you have to sign up on the web site, and then they have a little applet thingy that launches the game for you.
Certainly that was how it was supposed to work previously.
2 weeks ago theb eta wasn't even open ,.so no wonder you couldnt get it working.
