Was no one else disappointed with this last night? I think freerunning is amazing to watch, and the build up was phenomenal - by the time it was ready to begin I was on the edge of my seat.

The actual event though was soooo boring! The quiet, mellow music gave it completely the wrong mood, and while I appreciate how difficult this would be to film I also know it could have been shot and edited better. Plus, compared to all the amazing moves we were seeing them do at the beginning, the event itself was dull dull dull. The jump from the battleship was extremely impressive, but other than that nothing they did held my attention. Oh, actually, there was a cool bit where he shimmied around a chimney which looked suitably dangerous...

But, like, the last place they went (the ballet place I think?) - they just ran along the rooftop and...that was it. I can do that!

Jonny_Darko, I had exactly the same thoughts. I actually stopped watching after that part, having felt slightly misled. The programme, entitled 'Jump London' gave us undue focus on that event. I wouldn't be surprised if the decision to centralise the role of that demonstration came after treatments and proposals had been formulated.

What it turned out to be was a documentary about Free Running with a demo tagged on, which happened to be very good and even in large part because of the build-up to 'Jump London'. But, when it came to it the Jump sequence couldn't live up to it.

For all its style and heavy-duty crane use it was just a montage. Lovely, graded footage perfectly executed. But, you can only watch that for so long. I think it was about 15mins part we had it for. The focus laid upon the sequence required some sort of progression, so as a taught audience we could identify with some of the movements and challenges we had seen earlier.

I thought a 2D map running alongside, so we could see the Runners status in the challenge, alternatively a stylish 3D map we could refer to every now and then to establish their progress. If not that, then much simpler would've been just to make more visual links between each part of the Run footage. Just something to gravitate the event, so we could relate and appreciate it.

Disappointed :/ On the other hand, I saw Dan Cruickshank's documentary on Iraq on BBC2 afterwards, which was excellent.

I'm surprised they didn't make more use of the millenium bridge. I mean, they just ran across it and nearly bumped into people. As jonny said, "I can do that!"
