Yes I do, I use a sidewinder with throttle control to fly the planes and helicopters(DC).

For me it makes it a lot easier, but for others they find it harder. ah well its up to personal taste.

There's no specific joystick options, you assign it the same as you'd do anything else.

I got a joystick specifically to fly planes on BF1942, but I find it almost impossible :(

I had a go at flying with the joystick last night and didn't find it that much easier; gave up in the end and played CS instead, I was crap at that too 'cause I haven't played for three weeks:)

I use a joystick and find it a lot easier to fly than with m+k.

Down to personal preference, but I never join a BF game without it :D

just tried it again for the last hour or so, it is a lot better. For some reason though the game just quits out on me sometimes and I don't know why... if I check on ase it says I'm still on there :(

I got a M$ Sidewinder forcefeedback joystick specifically to fly in BF, and it made all the difference.... I can now stay in the air for ages until I hit the side of cliffs =)

Just a shame I can't get the actual forcefeed back to work on it =(
