Not really when only 43% voted for it.
The rest voted for something else.

Like I said the voting structure doesn't allow for selecting a proper alternative.

Yes we voted to keep this idiotic system but it doesn't mean it's fair.

Well i know that 43 or 45% isnt a majority. But its as much of a majority as you get with fptp. However, if you had all labour and cons voting lib dems second we could end up with a lob dem government without them being the majority first choice too in proportional representation.

No method is perfect but with the method we have at the moment the tories have a mandate.

you could say that 30% of people didnt vote at all. So even with a majority of people who voted going for a particular party you still couldnt claim a majority cause that 30% who didnt thrn up would be enough to take a majority away.
