joinin server problems.....

when I join through the CS Game (I don't use GameSpy ;P), it says that the authentication information is invalid. sorry I couldn't take a pic i was sorta bored at the time and went to desperate measures (yep, TFC). Any ideas anyone?

m8, there are many things that could be wrong here. First oof, what versions of HL and CS you runnin'?
Should be HL v.1106 and CS 1.1

also, get yrself a server browser, Gamespy is fine but i prefer Kali!
makes life a LOT easier imho.

its HL 1.1.06 and CS 1.1.....I dunno about the browsers tho...;P LOL I tried using gamespy and when it tried to change game to CS it thought i didnt have the required map (strangely enough ive had cs since 6.4 so i have all the maps)

Well he's been playing TFC so lets not amideately asume he's thick, he has 1106 and I'm sure if he's managed to get that far he's realised how to download CS 1.1

Its a CS related problem because you've been playing TFC which also needs you to authenticate I suggest reading through some past posts m8, this has been a common problem lately

if you've had CS for so long, why all the probs all of a sudden m8?
get yrself the latest map pack and a server browser, if you have the correct versions you should be ok.

WON authentification? Wellu know its your isp/the internet in general/won dying if it halts at auth and hangs yer pc.

However a auth problem like this means

a) u are a warez monkey

b) some cunt with a keygen just got your hl cdkey and won id.

c) u reinstalled hl and got the cd-key wrong?

It just happened. LOL. Well actually I tried joining a PCZONE Magazine Server which was Linux (I've only joined Windows Servers b4 I came across this one) It's password protected (just to save u £3.99 its googlybird for July) and then it said the pass was wrong (I tried joining in June) then all of a sudden I couldnt join anything.(and yes ive downloaded the latest mappacks with de_dust2 thunder and all that new shit.
