The sentence is a bit too lenient for my taste. He should be banned from professional football imo. All this fuss about people not respecting refs etc floating round, yet they don't ban Barton for a blatant breach of the law by attacking some kid.

The guy is a waste of my oxygen, hope the FA and Premier League get some balls and ban him. Compensate Newcastle if necessary, but set some sort of example.

As Barton has played well for the last month or so I thought the spacker Toon fan message boards would be saying they would be gutted if he went down. I ahve to say 98% of them are saying he should of got a harsher sentence.
