Java!!!! Modem!!!

Lo all 2 things, i go onto sum websites where it needs this java krap thing for chat and other things, a box comes up "Install java..." i click install, and then it goes to sum microsoft website saying "automated installation of java is no longer supported on Windows XP" or summing like that. Where can i get java (im using XP Pro)? And in my modem settings which of these 3 should be enabled "Hardware flow control" (already enabled), "Modem error control" and "Modem compression." Thanx very much

Microsoft use to do a Virtual Java program but after the court case you can't get it any more so you have to use the original program from Sun http://java.sun.com/getjava/download.html

The last question depends on your ISP, just try a few settings and see if you can still dialup.

Modem Compression is good if your ISP has it their end.
