anyway, Been in japan for almost 2 weeks now and going to Sendai on sunday, then to Lake Tazawa for a couple of days. Kyoto/osaka in the Golden Week (japanese holidays). Surprisingly its really cheap to live here, but kinda hard to find a place to live since we havnt really planned anything (Untill today ). Been intersting so far and i thought i'd update you with some pictures:

it's not too bad. you'd be adviced to learn a few phrases if you can, but you can get by from having a phrase book you can point at even, though it can be frustrating at times... took me about 30 minutes to find a place in a Kyoto shopping centre that sells sunglasses.
Just knowing a few simple phrases could really help, but there's a lot to help English speaking travellers. All of the major trains have english on the signs aswell as japanese, and most have english announcements following the japanese also. The circular line around Tokyo has a video screen above the doors that shows route and station information in japanese and english. The more you go off the beaten track though, the harder it will be to get by with just english.

^ japanese is pretty easy to learn. if you are still in bristol before you go i'd say go to my teacher for a few lessons. she's very good.

So, We have left Tokyo and its masses of Suits, leaving behind one of the largest cities its strange to go to small town Tawazako and its out-of-season slumbering attutide (and the really poor public transportation we met in Tokyo). We also left behind a great bar with a wonderful Tender (and owner), his charming live musician who could sing like Clapton, Armstrong and probably everybody else, but unfortunatly couldnt speak a word of english which reflected the lyrics (still, i wanna buy his Album if he ever makes one). there we got Bourbon on the Rock (and i mean big fucking rock, Toh this place is definatly a place for you), Punishment-Campari and taught him to make White Russian (wtf how can he not know it). Eating japanese-style is great as well! worth it if you find a true style japanese kitchen in your area.
Pictures have not been updated this time but hopefully we will next time! Good luck getting Emma Wattson knickers wet you bums!
