I am one of the many players of Italian PVP Server (Argain).

This News only speaks about Vortigern (RvR server).
Where it will end Argain?
When argain server will closed, what the italian pvp players will make ?

Ok. I'm not on the Italian team however I've asked for a bit of clarification.
The information I have is that the PvP server has not been migrated and will not for the immediate future. Only Vortigern is available for play at the moment. The situation may change in the future when the Italian database is fully integrated with ours, however for now you only have a standard ruleset server.
Whether there will be a second PvP server in Italian in the future, I can't say as this hasn't been decided yet, however given the low population of Camlann, I would doubt it.

As there is more news it will be posted on the Italian DAoC site.

Mythic managed to merge Andred with Mordred, so I'm sure Goa could do the same....if they bother to do it is another question.

Its not just a case of adding data base 1 to data base 2 to get data base 3 .

If some of the fields dont match then you got to run that data base through a macro to convert the fields into the same data. Your potentially going to end up with instances of lost data or corupted files.

I hope goa take their time and do it properly for the italian peeps

As the French and Germans have to share our PvP server, it seems only fitting that the Italian PvP DB gets added to Camlann, also makes it more sociable to join fellow europeans and not be segregated to their own language only.

whether charcopying from the italian pvp database to the english camlann pvp database is possible/feasible is also not certain.

Two different languages.

It might be that mythic can create a tool for GOA to convert an italian char from an offline Argain database (they were still allowing people to charcopy from andred->mordred after the server was shut down but not for long - that said was the server shut down or just closed by that point?) but that's a big maybe.

1.71 is around the corner with easier levelling even on PvP, 1.73 with new classes - time for a new start on a new pvp server?

I don't think that an italian player with 1.60 can have his pg charcopied on a 1.70 server with pg's with Toa and ML allready done.

so if you played on the italian PvP server, you can say goodbye to your toon. Which i dont think is totally fair, but then i dont make the rules.

yea, its sad tbh.
i cant even imagine how pissed i would be if that happened to me...
at least give them "/level 20" on one char and 200g to start out on a new server... or something else if theres any better ideas.



ps.
i would love to copy my SB to camlann btw... NF made my server unplayable aswell... does that qualify?
