Having loads and loads of Probs with BF1942 and associated MODS(DC & GC)

The other night a lot of the servers on multiplay were grayed out. I tried clicking on them and it said I needed to update my version. Running on 1.4 I can access limited servers.

I upgrades to 1.45 and when I press update in multiplay it just stays at 0/0 servers. Nothing, Nadda, Fek All happens.

I try and reinstall using a differnt incremental patch upgrade incase the the download of 1.45 was corrupt in transfer. Still no good.

I remove and reinstall going for the full patch version of 1.45. Same again. I remove and use all the patches I have used in the past. As usuall I get to version 1.4 then things go a bit wonky.

My set up is full retail version of BF1942 not a copy or owt
Athlon XP2100+

Help please anyone
1gb of PC2100 DDR RAM
nForce2 Mobo
60Gb HDD
Radeon 9700 PRO G Card

Im having the probs to man Mine is with DC & BF itself, I have no problems with GC tho'

I initially had problems with the install of 1.45, mainly because of the number of mods/changes to config files, so I did a complete re-install - BF1942, then RTR, then the full 1.4 patch and finally the 1.45 incremental. All was sweetness and light after doing it this way. I then installed Merciless, Interstate, etc.

Also, some of the mods are not fully 1.45 compatible yet, so see if all is right with native BF before installing the mods.

Not saying it will solve your problems, but worth a try ?

The incremental doesn't work on mine either. I suppose because of all the mods I've got. If I reinstall it's gonna take me days to download all them all again.

You could try copying your mod folders out before the reinstall and pasting them back in, might work with some of them.

I read on one forum that the incremental was ok, so long as you didn't have the Battle of Britain map installed already.

That bit of information doesn't help you in any way

I was about to do that then I noticed that my BF CD2 has a massive split in it. The install progress bar is actually going up really slowly but my cd drive is making some really painful noises spinning the thing.

Hah wow it actually installed. The CD wasn't just cracked it was toally split all the way through... I kind of pushed it in the drive holding it together. CD's rock. I'm gonna remember this moment along with the time I spilled orange juice all over my Civiliisation floppies and they still worked after I drained them out.

Now I gotta download the full patch

I had the same thing but split only half way refused to install 9 out of 10 times. Then i lost it

I had the same problem - i dl'd the full 1.45 instead and it seems to work

I originally dl'd the full patch since I have a lot of pornwidth...erm bandwidth.
