it's £40 a month from BT with BT Together, but you get £13 of free calls a month. Hence, £27.

Quite correct. You can get HH for £27 a month provided you don't want the cheaper installation and £13 included calls that BT Together provides.

If you have already signed up for BT Together and the £27 a month offer sounds attractive, don't get too worked up because BT Together has a 12-month minimum contract period so you can't drop back to the £27-a-month until you've had it for a year...

Basically it guarantees BT a revenue stream (you pay them £13 extra for your ISDN line even if you don't use the £13 calls) in exchange for which they give you slightly cheaper calls in the daytime and cheaper installation charges.

I'm gonna drop BT Together and fall back to the £27 thing as soon as I can.... I use RHA and Clara Freecall for my connects so I never use that £13-a-month call allowance... tho I'm trying to now cos I remembered about it and am using BarryDial a fair bit to use it up :)

ah yes, I see what you mean about the bt-together thing, yeah that's what I'm on.

Installation - not sure about the current cost, have a look on the BT webby.

And yes you'll need a new "modem" - they're called Terminal Adapters (TA's) for ISDN. A decent one will set you back £30-50.

Oh right! That's how it's worked out!

In that case my ADSL costs nowt coz I get unlimited calls to the net for my £40.

Come to think of it, if I leave it on 24 hrs a day, BT will owe ME money!

:)

If you order HH through Solwise (www.solwise.co.uk), they'll give you £50 cashback off their products. An Asuscom Internal PCI TA (arguably the best one you can get with the Eicon Diva) costs about £33 from them. The excess will get you a 10m cable (in case your HH box isn't right next to your PC). So you're basically getting your TA free.

£40, but close enough :)

They were ceasing that offer in September (orders had to be installed by end of) but they've extended it for the moment.

If anyone is emailing them or placing an order could they let me know what the date has been extended to? Just so I can tell someone at work...
