I could not decide of iwant to post this tread but ..... Is Zerging really that bad? . I mean in the middelage it was huge armys vs each other


. The kings from each realm did not post leaters like : why the fuck did you came whit 100 soldiers more than me arghhh

The game was ment to be MMORPG so i dont see what i'm saying is very wrong

Irl war's was fought on a totally different basis than ingame war's, these war's r 100% for fun, FG ppl can't ruin the game for Zerger's, but Zerger's can ruin the game for FG ppl any day ...

And for the account: FG can ruin the game for solo players, while solo players can not ruin the game for FG.

I do not mind a crowded area to much, and that a fight can add up where in the end 5FG vs 7FG fights evolve is a natural logic, and I do not mind to much about that as well.

But when people start to run around as 3FG+, and do not split up but add more people, then its bad indeed. Very very bad.

heh this game isnt a MMORPG anymore, its Counter Strike.. examples

Radar whines = OGC whines
Zerg whines = BALAnCE TEAMS OMG FS USE AUTO JOIN FS
omg chanters omg zerkers = omg awp whore fs
albs camping amg ffs ;/ = fs T's camping again FFSOMG
NP = NiP :p

Back in the day when 50's were rare, Everyone zerged. Poeple ran around with loads of other poeple smashing anything that moved. Hibs did it, Albs did it, Mids did it. Camping MG's Large battles in bowl in hib, Just genral carnage all over the place. Times were good....

Now that some have higher realm ranks they want to try and go at fg v fg, Pit there skills against the next fg to come there way. Who has the best mez, Who can get who's healer down first, Who has the best control 8 v 8.... But this isn't always posible.

Poeple will always zerg, Just as much as poeple whining about poeple zerging. Poeple will always try to have fg v fg and some will whine when they get zerged. Zergers riun the game for fgs, fgs whines riun the game for zergers. My adive to you and anyone else, Play the game how you want. Pay little or no attention to barryswhine and have fun. Coz at the end of the day, If its not fun, why pay for it ?....


My 2 cents and as the post says, pay little or no attention to it :)

AGREE! :) times where good but some peopel just want rp and only rp go 1 full groupe and get wiped . All could go Zerg like old days i still miss it was fun to see grey - purpel zerging

I think it would be quite fun to hold a mass battle planned event.

Probably crash the server like but image 20FG facing each other across the bowl in emain, suddenly 1 side charges, trembuchet's fire, arrows fly, casters....well cast.

Not sure if this has been tried before, it normally starts with a CS or RR. I've certainly never been to a planned event.

zerg v zerg can be kinda fun, the only problem is that albs seem to be able to muster an uber zerg. I dont blame them its not there fault theres simply way more people in alb and they all wanna rvr, its the game not the players at fault.

well i agree the old fg-v-fg was alot more fun that 4fg-v-2fg,
im actually ok with 3fg-v-4fg and vice versa, ive found while most times the 4fgs will win, the 3fgs can pull it off using in game advantages (dont say radar im sick of that s**t) like higher ground, and the mile gates, think thats wat goa and mythic had intended tbh. I aint showing off here so dont flame me but honestly in emain alb side amg, 3fgs hibs was resting above grannys and 4fgs albs ran by, spotted, but our healers where consealed on higher grounds so we took the 4fgs, ofc then wen got ganked by a further 5fgs cos we didnt move :D

write to goa, im sure they can fix positions in emain for 10fgs each side, or do wat they do best, place some flags :D

I started to play this Game to have big battles.

If you only want FG vs. FG then you choosed the wrong Game

This is an MMORPG not Counterstrike

Kind of agree there. I like fg-fg fights, but mass battles is what this game was designed for really, and I don't mind partaking in em. It's another thing to be sportive enough to spare soloers / grey cons when you're a fg, or break up a zerg when you notice the opposition is ridiculously low. The best reason to avoid zergs is because of the server lag imho; otherwise playing zerg vs zerg still leaves plenty of room for tactics. For one thing, big zerg fights don't depend so heavily on who gets the first mez in and on average aren't decided within 10 seconds.

I agree with icebreaker. If this pile of Sh*te server could handle it , large battles would be fun. People only complain of zergs a) cos of the lag b) because theyre rp whores who cant stand the though that there rp total is lower per kill. It would also put less pressure on some players who are key to grp success such as sorcs, healers etc ie mezzing class. In 1fg battles its normally decided on this and the one who isnt quik enough can get a group killed.
When mythinc made this game im damn sure they never imagined most 1fg v 1fg encounters would be mezz, pb , pb dead which is what happens alot which is no fun for anyone not even the ones killing.

I'm not active in DAoC anymore, but still, one thing that would make RvR much more fun is collision. Then tanks would really be tanks.
Mythic should implement collision with all enemies, not realmmates, that would rock IMO.

Before anyone says it can't be done, I'll say, "try Planetside then". In Planetside though, you got collision with your teammates too, which should be left out in DAoC..

totally agree, if they put collision detection in would make game 10 times better, and i'd definately come back

Just looked at me pals monitor (Yuki) when he`s
grp arrived at amg... :ROFLMAO: alb zerg cam out.
(as usuall) and there were 2-3 albs on every hibbie.
any1 who says albs dont zerg or something likethat
should be shot. :great:

Problem with zerging is that albs outnumber the other realms so much that fights aren;t even remotely fair. Large scale battles with roughly even teams are fun, 150 albs steamrollering everyone they meet is not. :p
