Is void eldritches desirable in teams?

Im certainly not lazy, and im not sure how being a void mage makes you lazy? Being a pbaoe mage, thats what I might call lazy as you are following a spec where you are accepted regardless of your ability, void mages have to work hard to be respected, lazy they are not.

I like void. I prefer it to the other options that my character (an elven eldritch) has and would not respec even though I have tried the alternatives. I can drop and disrupt enemies at range and behind walls that light and mana mages cant even touch. My bolts may have flaws but I use them well and enjoy my game, if thats being stubborn, I am guilty

In pve I would have to say that voiders are not respected, but that they should be your second mage! Its easy to debuff 3 creatures as they come in, if your not a lazy player. A void mage debuffing mana and aoing teamed with a pbaoe debuffing cold and pbaoing will do lots more damage than any other combination of players around (including two pbaoes).

In rvr I dont think we are respected at all. There are may flaws in the void spec and you have to play your character well to make up for his deficiencies in run of the mill zerg/charge in an dd the tanks until dead combat...

I've played a little with my voidritch in the bg now at lvl 20 and I must say that using the bolts does'nt exactly require any special technique or vast experience to master It totally ownz just about everything. A saracen backstabber stabbed me while I was walkig alone and I just quick casted one bolt and he was almost down just by that and he was red.

GTAOE is a bit more tricky though, but it can kill off some, did get to do 6 hits and kill some with it so it's not useless.

In PvE though, I have respect for voidritches but you'd probably need a pbaoer in the team already for you to be really valuable.

hehe, in thidranki i imagine it very probably does... that's because voids doing the damage it's supposed too, almost nobody in thidranki has any resists.

once i get into frontier rvr though things go differently...cold resists are VERY prevalent, shame too

of course being a caster at all will be like that soon, SC will have most people maxing ALL magic resists after a while when we get decent spell crafters, so everyone's gonna do crappy damage compared to what they should do.
