Ok we have a full WB in Reikland, we are on a keep, get 1st door down, destro arrive, fight ensues, half the WB is dead back at the Warcamp.

I expected us the regroup & have another bash at the keep, or the other keep in the zone, what ever.

The 'order" comes from the WB leader to leave the zone & go to Kadrin Valley and take keeps there. I though, "cool, we will have element of surprise" All the destro were waiting on the battlements of the to other keep, in the other zone. For the next 15 mins, we proceeded to take all the BOs, and the WB ignored the 2 totally undefended keeps, chosing instead to farm BOs for a wooopiefuckindo 500 rp. I killed a magus 1v1 the other day and got 10k rp, why the fuck do I want a measly 500 ?

I ask politely in the WB " why do we farm BOs instead of taking the keep" ? I got ridiculed, PM'd to say "be careful u might get kicked" The arselickers & sycophants of the "wb leader" rallied to him & tried to make ME look like the weird one.

I proceeded to dish out some tasty expletives & left the WB.

Is this whats its like on your server ? full of pve-centric sheeple who, sorry know fuck all about RvR.

3 warbands in Reikland split between BOs, PQ and Keeps. Some guys roaming around helping as needed, some people ignoring everything regarding tactics but having fun camping the Order Warcamp.

Some people who know what to do and can shout, some people who don't know what to do but can be persuasive and shout louder. Some people seeing a little bit of what is going on, several that can see the bigger picture. Some people who never met their parents just shouting. Some people who message privately with good advice and observations on Order movements. Some people willing to do the boring bits and scout and watch.

Some of it is the most fun in an online game, some of it is crazy-making.

This is RvR.

Who was it and where do I find him?

Highest I got so far was 835 RP, most of those canned RPs (aka Tanks) take like 10-15min to kill and give a little bit over 500.

It depends on your RR v their RR, I've had 2.5Krp before and several 1.5-2k.

it really is getting too much, the concept of RvR is joke on 8P. Plenty of people about, relatively very little actual fighting. I really think they need to implement something worth fighting for like they had in DAoC (yes i know this is not DAoC2 but the endgame in it actually worked). Relics, a dungeon (DFish) - i dont know, something has to be done to stop the complete bullshit that is going on atm.

IMO they need to change the reward system for orvr objectives and keeps to make it only worth taking and holding bo's etc if there is an enemy to fight, effectively remove all the rp for capturing and introduce something like a bonus % to RP's, HP's armour or something for each BO/keep.

There should also be incentives to defending rather than ninja taking then moving on to the next pve rp cow.

Similar situation on Burlock. Since the other RP server closed (or virtually closed) the numbers of Destruction in tier four have been frankly ridiculous.

We can't defend against them successfully so, instead, the war band leaders take their war bands to other maps to PvE and take the battlefield objectives.

Apparently feeding the Destruction zerg helps them to gain victory points to control zones, so it is "tactical play" to go elsewhere. It is also very dull. One could do as much for the war effort by not logging on at all and going out for the night.

Some big changes are needed to the concept of RvR in this game, and it is surprising, really surprising, that it got out of beta like this.

I can relate. Had an attempt at one of the greenskin keeps, we were outnumbered when we got past the second door and we wiped. Instead of going back to the keep, our leader and a good portion of the members wanted to take the BO's instead, and so we did. I logged off after the first BO. Personally I don't see the point in having these BO's, they spread out the community too much. I wish they'd have gone with two non-instanced battlegrounds somewhere between 1-40 and rather have ONE frontier for each faction at 40. This is just f'kin stupid.

its sunday morning.

I join follow the kortez pve zerg.

the zerg takes 3 keeps, i think 6 BOs. Dont see a single destro in 2 hours. Eventually we meet a rival destro WB & we wipe in seconds.

maybe if the idiots who call themselves "leaders" concentrated more on pvp, they might actually learn how to do it.

and ofc, instead of going back.. the Wb is moving to another zone rather than >shock horror< actually have a fight.

I'd love for this too but the way its set up and the lore, HE and DE being across the ocean, so i think they would be reluctant to do that.

I'd like to see the T4 RvR zones and PvE zones ripped apart and put into their own zones so that the RvR areas are bigger, but also completely change renown. Make renown something that you largely do/get at 40 and only from killing players in oRvR, or maybe just boosted over scenarios for those that insist upon them, so by the time you're 40 you're no more than RR10-15, changing item requirements accordingly. This would hopefully encourage people to get to 40 and would mean they had to RvR to get the renown for their sets everyone seems adament on farming. I think people are rushing the game, which usually happens, but mythic are letting them do it. I didn't think anyone would reach RR50+ this early in the games life.

Just now:

WB wipes outside keep in DW
WB Leader - imagine how many people are inside if we wipe outside
I said - Lets get some more people and come back
Person in WB - We should just leave them there to rot

Then a 2v2 fight just away from the keep (completely out of visual range), IB / AM vs DoK / Zealot - could have been a nice fight, but nooooooo thirty seconds in to the fight the whole contents of the keep descend upon us. No way they could have seen it other than the two girls we were fighting telling them.

Good fights are very hard to come by :/

I was refering to the fact that geographically the Empire T4 zones are more inland than the T1 zones, same for Dwarfs? So to get to the other areas you'd have to go via the T1 areas. I'm sure theres ways around it but from a lore or logic stand point it would be a mess.

If you died in DAoC you were generally out of the fun just a bit too long though. I understand the strategic importance of that but it meant for the individual a large chunk of fun element was removed.

Having the longer wait after dying in Daoc meant the fights were more exciting since more was at stake.

Yeh thats part of what i was saying with the seperating the zones and making them bigger - further to travel. Can elaberate on that and maybe have one T4 warcamp at opposite zones (chaos wastes and reikland). Would mean people have to travel to fight and also that there would be consequence for dieing. I'm just babbling ideas really not put that much thought behind it.

People hardly played scenarios at all in beta... everyone just went to their nearest RvR lake and fought over the objectives - not for loot, but to kill the enemy.

Unfortunately a beta environment is not a live one, players are motivated entirely differently.

Not really. Some amazing fights were taking place on the way to the action. What's happening here is that you just throw a bunch of people in a small area and that's about it really.

I really can't see how rvr will progress here... quite disappointing so far :(

You missed out the annoying guildie who happens to take the piss out of the WB leader in local chat at random intervals ;) :D :kissit:

I've been hearing something which kinda shocked me.

Order WB leader and their zerg go into a keep and kill the lord etc. They then go out on the battlements.

Order WB leader chats via mirc/vent etc to Destruction WB leader. The Destruction zerg come in and kill the lord, then go out on the battlements. Order go back in an kill the lord. They do this to farm the lord for items.
