Is this cheating or a valid tatic?

I have attack 2 keep recently both of the owned by the same realm both have had grey charater sitting outside.

i Kill the enemy and start attacking the empty keep.

But about a minute later we have a load of the enemy in that keep have logged there for defence, but have logged in far to quick?

Two way to call this

1. someone when afk sitting outside a keep why surely safer to run 10 sec more and sit in keep while afk? Or mb they're just new to this?

or

2. Have 2 accounts on the same sever realm and have 2 computers and have the second account charater sitting outside a keep waiting to get killed by the first person who attacks that keep as an extra early warning device.

Is this tatic acceptable? It is mb like having RR6 or mb RR10, i dont know if any rank u get told when the fisrt guard gets attcked?

that's called logging your main inside a keep and when someone says it's under attack it takes all of 60 seconds (less actually) to log your main on

Well, isn't the idea of DAOC roleplaying? Seems to me that, if you are going to have any form of balanced and realistic warfare then it's not "fair" to have alts logged inside keeps. Relogging as an alt who is stronger and turning up at a keep I can deal with, but actually logging inside a keep? :\

Surely if you are not on as your main the main is "sleeping"??

So all that is happening is that the Keeps Garrisoned troops are "woken" up..

In roleplay terms they are the garrison of the Keep and if you take the keep before some or all of the "garrison " are awake then so be it.
You do have to be online and someone has to raise the alarm.
Else the "garrison" will sleep though the attack.

I can not see is as "cheating" else you would only be able to log out in certain places or have only one character per realm..

As for the grey Guard outside of keep , you take the risk with every kill that someone will be in range to see the death message.

Hoe else are you supposed to have people inside the keep during an attack. Unless there has been sufficiant warning the defenders have to defend from outside their keep usually which isn't exactly how it should be.

In an ideal world you have defenders inside the keep and attackers outside, in daoc both are outside usually

But having this second account with like 1 lvl charater sitting outside the keep not being play as a charater just as a extra early alarm has got to be a bit dodgy.

U only need 6 ppl u the realm to do this and u have a water tight defence without the use of realm points and realm ranks

This is away of ppl cheating in my book if u cant win by fair means they taking the rule to limit/bend the rules/Doesnt say u cant do it.

IMO this is a cheat and not acceptable what is the point of Realm Rank 2 when u get informed went a keep is taken or RR4 when u know the first door are down.

This make these ranks system usless if u know before because u have a alt siiting out side on a second account.

There are alot of ppl who have second account for childern and wife/husband this is a way of stopping this happening.

Please stop it u know who u are

as far sa ive understood it, multi accounting is a cheat (agaisnt the CoC)

Only way this can be a cheat, is to multi account.
The other ways are just rather clever, altho annoying, tactics
Annoying for attackers, not defenders ofc

well midgard firstly: dont like having equal opposite and need ever advantage they can get so they can dominate for some strange reason they seem to like owning people and have no risk of competion.
secondly middies are bored most likely so hey jump at the chance of any rvr action.
why cant you middies take it easy? with home keeps dont bother attacking it till 3 in the morning why cant you wait till tomorow? will it make any difference? why do you have to have spys? and use pathetic things like this? cant you use normal skills to beat us? coz this just makes the game depressing

Having more than one account is not against the CoC , atleast not if you belive whats is stated in RightNow

I have actually sugested this a few times, but it would mean logging in at the exact same time, or each person would get killed one by one

And think of it this way...most people are always complaining about middies ganking greys, and even when they are sat down.
So if your people had left the innocent grey middie, sat on the ground alone. There woulda been no alarm

Well playing 2 chars at the same time, or use one as a buff bot is not cheating in my opinion, if someone used the 2 accounts to play two diff realms on the same server , that I would say was cheating, but someone playing 2 accounts in the same realm at the same time is not cheating. And if someone wants to log out there main char inside a keep, and have another char standing outside, and then swithc chars if the one outside would happen to be kill'd, thats not cheating as I see it, thats using your chars to the max. But alas im used to peopel whining about peopel who use there chars to the max from UO , so im not realy surprised to see it here too.

PS. What YOU think is cheating I dont give a flying duddle about, if the faq says its cool its cool

Your point 2 is a bit invalid as Ranks 2 get to know as soon as the lord dies.

also i have done a bit of sneaking around Mid and i rarely see a keep without a high level inside or partoling a few keeps. and i mean high level to me.

Midgard is working together and it is hard (not impossible) to get large forces into midgard unnoticed

and as for captured keeps it is similar midgardians in or around them.

There are so many ways around such tactics and others midgard use try using your mind rather than complaining.. and if you do not enjoy a game then move on, no point whinging about it.

hehehe, what it comes down to is, there is pretty much no way of you knowing that this wasn't just some low lvl looking around the frontier...who had to leave his computer for 5 mins, and thought he would be safe outside the keep.
To then come back to find he was dead, and lots of hibs around, so he tells a few people, and the mdis log in thier main characters which are sat in the keep.
So what's the big deal, I know for a fact that it wouldn't bother me in the slightest if it was my raid, oh no, you actually have to fight some real people instead of killing jarls, damn....

Having 2 accs on the same server can be done and in the US they have been able to do it since release and most likely this issue has been raised there as well.
Have anyone read any patchnote or statement from the US saying they are no longer allowed to have 2 accs on same server/realm (provided they pay for it)?

GOA wont implement and enforce a rule unless told by Mythic to do so, so this discussion wont lead anywhere except to a bunch of flames and we got enough of those on this forum already imo.
