Girlfriend's parents have invited me over for Christmas this year (After 4 years). Big deal or not a big deal?

Speaking to house mates, one thinks it is, one doesn't really think so.

If you make it a big deal, it will be. What does your GF think of it?

bring a decent bottle of wine for the crimble table. other than that...regale them with tales of this forum and awesome computer game moments you experienced!

Yes, Christmas with the "in-laws" is a massive big deal.
It means that they've accepted that you're a part of their family.

It took my folks nearly 4 years to invite my gf to stay for Christmas. It might also have had something to do with a 6 month old grand-daughter as well. :)

4 years seems a very long time to pitch up for Christmas dinner - why on earth would that be an issue? It's only dinner.

as long as its not the first time you've met them, then no, not a big deal. treat it like any other meal with them, just make more of a fuss about how good the food is and don;t fall asleep in front of the telly until everyione else has!

Is what my house mate said too, scary shit. Never been invited to an Xmas do by any previous ex's family, so is a new one for me. God bless having plans though!

Depends on family. To some it's, as said, a full welcome to family(try getting out now b*tch! :giggle:), to some it's just a "Oh yeah, maybe that wanker should come too".

You know them shirley? Just treat them like family. Eat, drink, take broom out of arse and enjoy.

The one thing to remember is that in a relationship you don't have to please anyone else outside it.
