Is there a point in capping +skill over resists?

Just made a template with +15 fire skill and was wondering if there was any point in lowering the skill to +11 and increasing the resist for matter or energy from 7% up. What will i achieve by having +15 fire?
Sorry if this is in the wrong section but it is to do with templates :p

Well, i think the cap you get from your template is +11 to skills.

Anyway, its always best to have +11 in all your template as it increases damage/healing power/blocking, depending on your spec

Ah so the max from the template is +11 then +11 from rr +50 from level =72 total. Well thats good as it gives me extra points to put elsewhere :)

RR13 now gives +12 obviously, then yes +11 from skills at level 50, so the cap at any one skill at this time is 50 + 23 [ must be nice ]

In your situation I would say resist is more important as U would put + to skill in main damage line wich is allrdy 50+ so U will get a SMALL increase in damage.

If it's + to a skill thats not main it's much more important to decrease variance.
For instance cabby, chanter or rm debuffing for their own baseline lt/dd.

not 100% sure on the mechanics but ive heard that composite magic caps at like 56? so like dark SM with 47 spec only needs + 9 in temp at RR1 for capped damage (never tested it dont much like casters)
