Is there a need for 2nd Euro Server???

Well is there?

I find the best continents that are busy locked up most nights in fact I see approx 3/4 locked up for hours, usually get locked up early afternoon and stay that way till midnight/1am. Might be nice to add in a new euro server esp since the game has taken off quite well.

A new euro one will relieve the pressure of a very stressed werner server.

Discuss munchkins.

I agree actually. Werner is usualy sitting pretty on 4 lit dots in the selection screen whenever I log on, and the population locks are usually in place on at least one continent.

I would guess though, that Sony are waiting to see the populations after the free month when many may leave, so I don't blame them for leaving things as they are for now.

When the free month is up we'll see a big drop, only then after a month or 2 will you be able to tell properly. I don't think we need one now regardless of the free month ending anyway, off-peak this one is very quiet as it is.

I will play until DE or EQ2 are out... maybe even keep playing.

PS is a very double edged sword - sometimes it's boring - sometimes a blast with cream on top.

It's the big "Starship Troopers" kind of battles that make it so interesting, imo.

if the server is overcrowded now a second server won't do a great deal

don't forget a second server means asking a bunch of users to start new characters on and scrapping their progress - outfits would be lost as would everything else... SOE won't duplicate all the userdata- that would be pointless...

Your best option if you think the server is too busy would be to pick a quieter american server - our capacity problems on Weiner are here to stay for the next 3-4 months unless SOE beef up the server cluster and raise the continent lock caps.

Well i here the game has not been officially launched in Germany and France yet, next week i believe ?

If that is the case as i have been told there will be a huge influx of players from those 2 countries which unless a lot of people cancel after their 1 month the server will be crammed.

I was also told SOE waiting to see when France and Germany go live officially how over crowded Werner becomes and then launch 2nd Euro server if nec.

This is ofcourse could be complete bollox but sound like it makes sense to me

Noooo the frenchies and germans are coming you must be joking??!!!

I thought everyone already able to play it was here wow werner is gonna get so hammered its gonna be made into a video and sold in soho as Watch Werner Get Gangbanged (The Unedited Version the developers didnt want you to see).

Even with swg (which btw many ppl I know are avoiding at least 2/3 for every 1 that says they will play it) for a £30/40 price tag and 15$ a month with very mixed reviews from friends think I stick with PS.

Please SOE open another server werner really won't cope even with swg.

if they hit capacity problems what do you propose they do then? roll dice to see who they move randomly to the other server? or just expect people to give up their characters for the good of the majority?

Well i may be wrong but it seems the hardware they have allocated us (Via Ubisoft) is alot worse than the Yank servers. For a start no way Emerald could handle what it does on the hardware we have been given. But it is Ubisoft so it's here to stay

When I found out that Ubi were hosting Planetside my confidence in the game's long term existence really was shaken. The way they are handling Shadowbane has to be THE worst on-line game experience ever.

Clueless and hopeless are understatements of the first order.
