I have a working Barry'sworld Account and can receive e-mail fine.

However, when i try to SEND e-mail I get the following :

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'Lord Haart's', Server: 'smtp.barrysworld.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10051, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

I have checked ALL the data I have entered and it is fine.

It worked a few weeks ago anyway and I have changed nothing since.

Can anyone tell me the problem ?

Try using mail.barrysworld.com for both outgoing and incoming, see if that makes a difference.

No, the mail.barrysworld.com does not work either on the outgoing.

Does anyone know how long it will be down and why it has not been posted in the BW news page ?

Because I personally don't have any trouble with it so I doubt it is a BW problem.

Believe me it is.

I have tried on 3 different ISP's, and 2 different e-mail programs.

It just suddenly stopped working, as I say.

Anyone else ?

Hmm, when i tried with MozillaMail, it would keep popping uip the password box, fail to authenticate, then ask again.

It *could* be my netfilter firewall, however i'm not gonna see what happens if i allow through specific traffic, because i can send mail using my ISP's smtp server, but set the `from' box in MozillaMail to my BW email, and you wouldn't know any differant.

well...

... if your not gonna try it, how exactly are you gonna know if that's what the problem is?

Because i don't care whether i can use the BW smtp? My ISP's will allways be faster, as it's only around 130ms away(56k bear in mind), and there's no need to add load to the BW smtp for no reason.

er...

so if you don't care, use the webmail?

or actually there's a tool you can use to alleviate the situation....

No, you still don't get it, do you?
I use 2 emails addresses, one on the BW pop3 server, and an ntl one, on their pop server. I use the ntl smtp server for all outgoing messages, because it has no bearing on the `from' part of the email.

I noticed the smtp appeared to be down(for me anyway), when i wanted to use it, i got no answere in IRC, so i just started using the ntl server instead.
