Or is RvR a lot nicer now for melee folks?

For some reason my weapons seem to be doing sooo much more damage than before. Yes I died a few times earlier, once to mids and once to hibs. But damn. Anyone who says relics don't make a difference is frankly talking out of their bottom.

hmm, maybe it's because you don't hide behind your guards anymore and actually go out to fight without a MaA at your side ?

Since Albs got the Strength Relics, they seem to feel stronger. In the past a solo Alb just ran, and die ... now they put up a fight ... and die (unless it's one of those goddamn clerics).

I've not seen vast amounts of guard hugging in about a month really. It potentially could be psychological, but I don't think so. I wasn't really able to one shot kill blues before and stay stealthed.
