...The Mummy, I wasnt watching closely but in the first Mummy movie I could definately spot extreme similarities with the Mummy's airplane fitted machine-gun and the Para machine-gun in CS. The sounds are very similar, you know how in CS the para has a short break in firing sound when you have it down on full auto bang bang bang chi bang bang bang chi etc.. Well same for the Mummy machine gun. Also the dual pistols Brendan Frasor has sound extremely similar to the dual berretas in CS, wat do u think?

I alway recognise door sounds in films from computer games - Daggerfall's door noise shows up in a lot of films/tv shows.

You total muppet, why post this inane nonsense. Its plainly obvious that the sounds are going to be similar, do you think they would use a squeeky toy for a pistol noise? No they wouldnt would they. What the CS creators would do is sample or perhaps even create from scratch a gunshot noise that approximates the real-life gunshot noise. Then consider a hollywood film, theres probably a whole department with a huge budget dedicated to getting the correct sound for a gun fired.

Jeez I just wasted 5 precious minutes of my life replying to this tosh. Heres hoping its at least given you guidance.

Some of the CS sounds ain't so great. If your looking for proper AK sound, then look no futher than the IGI AK sound, pure class In general though i gota say the wep sounds in Operation Flashpoint are the most realistic iv'e ever come across.

Many sounds for games, TV and films are stock effects held in a huge library and sold as and when they are needed. It's not often (except for sci-fi) that a film crew will recreat a gun sound every time a film is made.

This, I am guessing, but I thought if I sounded authoritative people would buy it.

A lot of the sounds in games and stuff are taken from public sound libarys, same goes for films, thats why a lot of them sound the same.

For instance theres this one sound of smashing glass ive heard of about 5 different films and TV progiees, it also comes wiv my old copy of the games factory (was i that sad?) and i can swear their exactly the same!!!!
