Is daocwin legal?

A friend informed me of a program called daocwin that allows daoc to be played in a windows mode. He tells me that Mythic have labelled it a benign proggram and that they cant do anything about it. I just wanted to know if it was legal or not as in my experince of past online games ive played, ANY program used in conjunction with the client is illegal.

No, the terms and conditions explicitly forbid any third party program that interferes with the way the game program runs, including "windowing" hacks that change nothing about the game except allow it to run in a windowed mode.

The fact that Mythic has changed their policy about forcing the client to run in full screen mode, and will provide us with an official version of the client that runs windowed in an upcoming patch does not change this in any way. I know it sounds kind of stupid, but those are the rules: officially, this program and others like them are bannable offenses and you could lose your account if you get caught using them.

Nobody has ever been banned from DAoCwin or DAoX, and SI includes windowed mode in 1.59, so have at it.
