Is anyone playing CS ?? At all ??

Every time I look at the CS servers there's nobody there :(

Forces me to play BF1942 all the time - which TBH is great - but I miss my CS friends :(

What is generally a good time to play? I generally don't get home from work until 8ish these days.

Well about the time you get home actually. idle in #bwcs so you know when and where poeple are going.

I always check to see if anyone is on. If not you will find me here - 213.221.175.97:27016 , its the CS Central server, full rotation with some nice custom maps as well, usually an admin on.

I've got BF1942. How anyone can say its better than CS amazes me tbh. It doesn't even work properly ffs ! Constant lag, the guns rarely aim where you shoot em, mad rushes to get the planes first. Jeez.
The only game Ive found lately that even comes close to CS imo is SoF2, and that only coz some of the maps are pretty.
Theres yet to be anything to come close to cs for skill and subtlety.

I think the main prob is that everyone os too impatient (me included).

When you have a look at ase you find your buddies (or buddy in my case :( ) and then you have the devils own job to get'em to come to bw coz no-oine wants to waste their valuable cs time loading another game up. So you end up playing on a server you dont want and on a map you dont like for the sake of changing. I'm just as guilty as evryone else, in fact i can't be bothered to fin

cs isn't what it is because of graphics or sound, it is popular because of the gameplay element. There are no other games around with better mixes of fun, skill, realism, and interest.

I think cs will continue quite happily until the team bring out a cs2 or such.

CS and BF1942 are sufficiently different for me to get different enjoyment from the two games - although I still thinks that BF is the better game (I'm willing to accept that I may still be in the honeymoon period though).

If I can't find CS then I'm more than happy to play BF

WTF is happening to Barrysworld?????

so unfriendly to users, we want it quick and easy, fs now i cant even add the new cs ips to HLSW, just ignores them for some reason, in the end i got sick and fooked off to jolt clan servers or blueyonder,

not worth the hassle tbh,

before anyone says use ASE, why? HLSW works fine for every server in the universe.

oh well never mind, £ best 24 quid i ever spent fs :(

Theres only 6 servers.. so is that what your talkin about?

Jobbie are you logged on to BW when adding thoose ip's? Your the only one who seems to have this problem.

Jobbie bet you're not logged on when you refresh m8. If you only play half-Life games I imagine your browser may well be very good, but if you play a few different ones ASE is surely the only way to go.
The only way to get people playing on the server is to play on it yourself. We did it the first week or two, there'd be me and a mate or two on a server, and within an hour or so there'd be 12 people or more. Me and Fishy did it the other day, and lo and behold there were people on the server, up to the dizzy heights of 13 at one stage !
I know the #bwcs idea is very useful for those who like it, but I confess Im beginning to dislike irc in general. I feel it takes up too much of my time, that I could be using to play cs or whatever, or even watch telly/drink beer/ talk to the wife :) I cant understand it ! People seem to spend 2 hours in irc for every one hour playing cs ! Wtf ?
Oh well, it's a free country :) What Im saying is, if you want to play on BW, go on a server. Wait for a bit. See if anyone comes on.
Bet they do :)

Jobbie, I used to use HLSW. I find that logging into the forums at work would stop my Barrlogin working, until I selected Login again, then I could refresh perfectly fine.

I had a similar problem with Gamespy Arcade where if I disconnect (have me tea etc) and then connect again the servers don't appear.

I think this is down to my IP address changing at each connection. I found that if I do a 'get IP' on the Barrylogin after connecting but before I browse the servers it works ok.

Even with this I am playing most of my CS on the Dutch Demon servers. Ping is pretty good, level of play varies from very good to average, attitude seems a lot better than BY and Jolt servers.

I only get about 90 mins (on a good night) to play on my PC, I don't want to spend 60 minutes of that playing by myself or 2v3 on a sparsely populated server.
If I tried the same thing on a MoHAA server I bet I'd be there alone for several days.

When are we going to see a couple of the servers go back public again or a public 'slot' system introduced ?

You certainly have to get ip every time you connect to the internet, as your ip changes everytime you connect.
