IRQ sharing

I have a sound card and graphics card on the same IRQ. I know nothing about IRQs but a friend told me having these two shared on the same IRQ is a bad idea.

I have to admit my sound is dogey (crackling at times of maximum output), and for a technical error. I believe this IRQ has somthing to do with it.

I'm on windows xp.

Can anybody help or suggest somthing else? Thanks

More details please, give us the whole system spec.

I had this prob too.

Remove the soundcard and boot yer pc up.

Shut the pc down, insert the SC and boot her up again.

There is a multitude of ways to fix this but I cba listing them, the above worked for me.
