Got this on recommendation in another thread (thanks to gremlin), watched it yesterday, pleasantly surprized.
I can see where all the genre in a popular film like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon comes from, the "invisible wire" effects are every bit as good as CGI (if not better), and the comedy aspect lovingly unchanged from the days I watched Monkey.
Early Jackie Chan films were like this, but they lost the plot (literally), so it was a welcome return to the kung fu genre I thought was lost in my childhood.
The only downside was the awful english dubbing, I watched it with english subtitles on as well and they were totally different, and I mean totally, not small variations like CTHD had.
Any more recommendations like this film would be gratefully recieved.
