Is where me and Kenny and now going to go on our holiday. I'm praying to the mischevious god of Astras that our car makes the haul, and that we can find somewhere to stay, and that Leprechauns don't steal my lucky charms while we sleep.

If anyone has some suggestions as to what we MUST do whilst out there (drink Guinness, go to the Guiness Factory, roll Kenny into the recovery position at night after he has drunk too much Guinness are already on the list :) ) I'll happily hear them out. We're hoping to cottage it for a week and then turn up on some of Kenny's realtive's doorsteps pleading asylum for the last week. That or BnBs. Or the Astra Deluxe Portable Motel.

Why thank you Embattle. That suggestion has certainly narrowed the feild, to walk on non specific stones on a non specific beach on an island. Lol...

*chuckle*

depending on where abouts in Ireland you go, theres plenty to do!

You got Bushmills in Northern Ireland, up top near Portrush/Portstewart which is a brewery :D you got the amusement arcades in Portrush, and the wonderful Nightlife nearby

If your nearer belfast area, you got Antrim Castle (just up the M2) and Belfast City Centre (i know youd love that Damini) and a load of entertainment places to fill you with.

towards Newcastle, you got the Mourne mountains, and more nightlife :D nice scenic place to go for walks up the mountain (dont forget your thermal undies!)

if your south of the border in Ireland itself, normally most "holiday spots" come with an assortment of activity centres ranging from driving 4x4's up huge mud piles, to riding horses (no sick jokes, that goes for you Waz, your the instigator for them all... ) as well as excellent Nightlife, and great food :D

and if you get really stuck, dander down to the nearest visitor centre (or drive if your a lazy shite) and enquire within :p

I just hope your not coming over next week for 2 weeks, or you deserve a slap :p

Oh yes, Southern Ireland was the plan. Definately. Southern ireland, and a little cottage, and beverages. And countryside.

All depends where you go, really. Bear in mind that outside the 4 large towns (in order of biggest -> smallest; Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway) you will find yourself in large vilages &/ small towns. Grand for pubs, but dont expect nightclubs.

Theres lots of stuff to do if you poke around the place - as suggested above, a visit to a local tourist office will direct you to the sights etc.

If you have have any specific questions, ask away :)

I'm not a nightclubber really. If I ever do, I invariably end up with make up strewn over my face, dancing like the eighties are back, and then wake up with a minor celebrities autograph on a doyley, and a vague recollection of trying to use extortion tactics on Kenny's relatives. No, its an ugly affair and we try to limit it :)

I like castles and big walks, and things that make you realise how small humans are, love ye olde worldey stuff (Weald and Downland Museum is pretty much my favourite place on the planet), also love shopping in obscure backstreets as much as huge towns, like fair ground rides (but Kenny is a huge pansy and hates them), arcades, fairs, battle recreations (its my bizarre love), love things like Lazerquest and there was a place in Bournemouth where you could get chased by a man dressed as a minotour, but nobody else seems to remember that and it was at a time where I was a *bad* pussy cat and so I do worry it never existed... but if it did, I liked it alot.

Think that covers it. So if you can think of anything that sounds like anything there, then fire away :)

Hm. Lots of castles & lots of big walks over here. I suggest the south east for walking as it generally has better weather than the rest of the country. If weather doesnt bother you, try the burren, which is on the atlantic seaboard around the top of clare into galway etc. Bleak & desolate are 2 words that spring to mind about that place. Theres lots of obscure shops all over the place here, be it in large citys or small towns. Arcades, fairs etc are all to be found in the usual spots. Battle recreations.. never heard of em here. IIRC there are lazerquests in cork & dublin, and possibly galway. I reckon a tourist office would in general be a good bet for you :)

Be aware that everything over here is très expensive. We are the second most expensive country in the eurozone, and will become the most expensive in early august apparently. This is currently the wetest summer on record in Ireland in general aswell, so dont expect clear skys :(.

Everywhere has fucking Irish theme pubs now. There's at least 3 in a 100 metre vicinity of one another in Oxford.

Carry an umbrella 24/7, you never know when the sky pours the whole atlantic on your head and stays that way for days.
